Watanabe-tei (Former Watanabe Residence) recognizes the importance of protecting personal information and is committed to safeguarding customer privacy in compliance with the "Act on the Protection of Personal Information" and this Privacy Policy.

Definition of Personal Information

"Personal Information" refers to information relating to individual customers, including name, address, telephone number, and any other information that can identify a specific individual. This also includes information that can identify an individual when combined and cross-referenced with other information.

1. The acquisition, use, and provision of personal information and specific personal information shall be carried out appropriately in compliance with laws and regulations, government guidelines, and other norms governing the handling of personal information and specific personal information.

2. Personal information shall be acquired, used, provided, and entrusted in an appropriate manner and to the extent necessary for the Company to conduct its business operations. When the Company directly acquires personal information, it will specify the purpose of use and notify the individual concerned. When the Company indirectly acquires personal information, it will confirm that the direct source has obtained such information appropriately with the consent of the individual.

3. The Company will not handle personal information beyond the scope necessary to achieve the specified purposes of use (hereinafter referred to as "use beyond the intended purpose"), and will implement measures to prevent such use.

4. The Company will not provide personal information to third parties, except in the following circumstances:

   • When the consent of the individual has been obtained

   • When required to do so by applicable laws and regulations

   • When necessary for the benefit of the customer or the public interest, and when it is difficult to obtain the consent of the individual

5. The Company establishes the following guidelines regarding the acquisition, use, storage, and disposal of specific personal information:

   • Specific personal information shall be acquired only when it falls within the purposes of use prescribed by law, and shall be used within the scope of those purposes.

   • Specific personal information shall not be jointly used, nor provided to third parties, except in cases expressly permitted by applicable laws and regulations.

   • When outsourcing operations involving specific personal information to external parties, the Company shall select and supervise such contractors appropriately.

   • Specific personal information shall be fully disposed of or deleted once the need to process matters involving individual numbers has ceased and the retention period prescribed by applicable laws and regulations has elapsed.

6. In order to protect customer privacy, the Company will establish procedures for the handling of personal information and manage it appropriately in accordance with applicable laws.

7. The Company will take preventive and corrective measures against unauthorized access to personal information and specific personal information, as well as loss, damage, destruction, falsification, and leakage of such information.
